Bring Back the Romance in Valentine’s Day

Is romance dead?  Some couples seem to think it is.  But if there were ever a day to try to bring the romance back into your life, it’s Valentine’s Day.  Yes, the holiday has become very commercialized, but that doesn’t mean you can’t push all of the expensive gifts, cards, and candies aside and have a romantic day. Make it a private affair.  All of the romantic restaurants are going to be booked up.  Many events will be sold out.  Why get caught up in all of that?  You can stay home, cook your favorite meal together, and watch a movie.  You may have a much better time than if you were out in the crowds. Do something the two of you enjoy, not something “traditional” for Valentine’s Day.  Not big into fancy restaurants?  Order a pizza or get fast food.  If she hates roses, get her a big bouquet of daisies or whatever her favorite flower is.  Don’t be afraid to buck tradition if it means having a better Valentine’s Day. Surprise her.  Give her a general idea of the date but then take her somewhere completely different.  Just make sure she knows enough to wear something appropriate!
